Cut loose!

I looked up at Dante and over to Jackson who was sliding his arm over A's shoulders. I blew him a kiss and shook my head, turning to look back at Dante. "I don't mind. As long as you can keep up, Doctor D." I spun around as the music built to a crescendo and stopped, but only briefly and I started singing with it again, dancing the steps to the song. "I'm turning it loooose! Footloose. Kick off your Sunday shoes. Please, Louise pull me off a my knees. Jack, get back, c'mon before we crack. Lose your blues now everybody cut footloose. I waved goodbye and turned back to Bianca. "Oh, I can keep up!" I laughed, grabbing her arm, tugging her forward and dancing with her. "Can you keep up with me?" I asked spinning her and dipping her up before pulling her up so her drink didn't spill.

I giggled, my eyes wide. "Wow! Who taught Mr. Doctor Man how to dance?" I winked at him, dancing out the rest of the song. Another slow song started to play, and I crinkled my nose. "Oh, pooey!" I held my hand up to him. "Wanna dance?"

"Hmmm," I said, rubbing my chin. "That's a hard one..." I laughed, pulling her forward. "I lied. Not hard at all. Easy choice actually. I'd love to dance." I slid my arms around her waist, holding her close as I moved slowly to the music.

I smiled up at him, relaxing in his embrace, holding my beer at his shoulder. "Jackson doesn't like to dance." Looks down between us and back up into his stormy blue eyes. "You're pretty good, Doctor."

"Thanks. I don't mind dancing. In fact, in high school, I was the best in my entire grade, boy wise." I shrugged, chuckling. "Dancing isn't as bad as some guys make it. You get to hold a nice smelling beautiful girl close and move your bodies. Nothing bad about that at all."

I couldn't help but blush, shaking my head softly. "I don't know about nice smelling right now, with all I've had to drink and as much as I've been dancing." I giggled, turning into him a little more.

"You smell just fine." I said, my face close to hers. "Promise. Like a Lily."

I bit my lip, turning my head away so he didn't see me blush. "Thank you." I laugh shortly, biting my lip. "Lilies are my favorite flower."

I turned my head slightly in the crook of her neck. "Good flower. Abby has some of those in the front yard."

I closed my eyes, feeling the heat of his breath against my neck, a soft sigh escaping from my lips and I couldn't even stop it. "I know... I love them..."

I pulled back slightly, my body responding to her sigh against my will. "Yeah.." I whispered near her lips, my lips itching to touch hers. I leaned in, a soft kiss pressing against her lips.

I closed my eyes, moaning softly, letting my lips return his gentle kiss as our bodies swayed against each others to the soft music.

I deepened the kiss, my hand tangling in her dark hair. I let my other hand tug her a bit closer. When I realized what I was doing I tugged back and grabbed my lips. "Jesus, I'm so sorry!"

I held my hand up to my lips, blinking as I stared at him. I knew I should return his sorry, but most of me didn't want to for some reason. "I--" My phone went off in my denim skirt and I pulled it out, noticing it as the prefix and first few digits of a hospital number. I knew it because A called me from the hospital a few times while she was at work. I looked up at Dante, confused. I answered the call and my face went white, dropping the phone.

"What..." I said, grabbing her arms gently after picking up her phone for her. "What's wrong?" I heard my phone and looked at my pocket oddly. I tugged it out, answered and felt sick... it wasn't work. God how I wished it was. I hung up, my eyes wide as I looked at Bianca, my hand still holding her up. "Abby got hit by a car..."

I swallowed hard. I couldn't believe this was happening. How could she be hit by a car and Jackson... "Jackson is ..." I looked at my phone in his had. "They... said he had a ... What's a stress attack?" I could barely even think, but it had to be serious if they were calling me from the hospital, and he wasn't calling me himself. "We have to... Oh, A!" I was frozen. I didn't know which way to go, what step to take next.

"Stress attack?" I said numbly, wondering why I couldn't remember what the fuck that was. For Christ Sake I was a doctor! Why was my brain shutting down? All I kept thinking was how bad a woman pregnant could get injured by a car. "Oh, God.." I let out a shaky breath. "Let's go... I'll drive." I felt sober. More sober than ever. I held her elbow, left some money at the table and led her toward the door. I felt like I was running on some foreign drug that made you feel like you were going to fast and too slow at the same time and in a dream world. I felt so out of it. If my wife... if our baby... God, I'd die before I let that happen.
