"Jesus, this road is terrible!" I said, turning down the black road. The rain was so thick I could barely see two feet in front of me. I hated driving, but since Jackson said he'd drive home I took the choice of driving here. I should have checked the damn weather report but because it wasn't raining In South Pointe, I never thought it would be raining here.. yet.. here we were, my stupid piece of shit wind shield wipers fighting a storm that I was sure wasn't going to be fought. "Maybe I should pull over?" I asked, knowing we weren't far from the cabin but it was bad.

I needed to get away, if not only to get away from Emily Grace's incessant want for a baby. All her whining and begging and pleading was enough to get on my last nerve. And Dante'd been going through that shit for longer than I have. Couldn't these bitches just get the hint that we weren't ready to be fathers yet. I mean, seriously? How long have we been married to them? Two years, give or take. And they want children ALREADY? Couldn't we at least get established first, make our lives stable before bringing children into this world? But these women were relentless. So, Dante and I were getting away for the weekend, and wouldn't you know it, it had to rain. "Oh hell no!" I shook my head. "I get enough bitching and complaining from Emily Grace as it is. You know what it will be like if I come home with a cold. She'll make me sleep in the den on the couch just so she doesn't catch it." I shook my head again, wincing. "No, thank you. I'm not in the mood for a bad back from that damned couch, brother!"

I busted out laughing, glancing over at him. "So fucking pussy whipped! Just tell her you are sleeping in the bed even if she don't like it!" I heard tires screeching and turned to look quickly. "Fuck!" I slammed on my breaks, but it was no use, the mud was slippery and sent us slamming into the back end of the car, sending it moving forward. We spun, coming to a halt against a tree, killing the engine and everything went black.

I groaned, taking a breath and coughing through it. "Fuck," I coughed out, forcing my eyes open. "What the fuck was that?" I winced, my head hurt, but I was alright, I think. Turning my head, the pain at the back of my head pinched slightly on some nerves in my neck, but it wasn't that bad. Undoing my belt, I reached over to Dante, squeezing his shoulder. "Dant--" I coughed. "Dante? Wake up, man?" I coughed again, trying to breathe fully.

"I'm awake..." I grunted, hating how dark it was.. outside. No street lights.. and no damn car lights. The only thing that lit up anything was the lightening. "You okay?" I asked, shifting slightly, trying to breathe through the pain in my side. I knew it was just a bruise, but damn if bruises didn't hurt. "Reach in the glove box and grab the flashlight." I said, reaching for my cell phone. I had no reception. "No reception. We need to find the other car and go get help.. think you can do that?"

I nodded my head. "Yeah, lets get out of here." I reached into the glove box and pulled out the flashlight, turning it on, shining the light over on him, not in his face. He looked alright. "You good to go?"

"Yep." I said, opening my door. It was raining so hard I almost thought twice about it. But it was either sit here and take the chance of another car coming out of nowhere and killing us or heading to the cabin and checking on the other car. I got out, shutting the door, yelling above the rain. "This way!" I said, pointing forward.

I got out of the car with him, slamming the door shut. I followed him, following his voice, coming up beside him with the flashlight. I could see the other car up ahead of us and a flashlight turn on in the car. "Well, that's a good sign," I yelled out to him as we hurried over to the car.

"Yes it is!" I yelled back, walking quickly toward the car. When we got closer it was easier to see it was a small car and that it was pinned face first against a fallen tree trunk which I was sure is what caused the car to stop in the middle of nowhere.
