Iceeeeeeeeeeeee cream shoppe!

"Momma?" I glanced down at Kyle as he held my hand and we strolled through the aisle's of the candy store. I had to return him back to his dad today since I had taken him overnight to stay with me at my place but I figured we'd get a snack beforehand. "Yeah?" He bit his tiny lip, twisting his light up sneaker against the floor. "How come you don't live with me and Pops? I mean all my friend's mommies live with them and they make them dinner every night and tuck them in bed every night and they get to play with their brother and sister all day. I don't get to do that..."

He sighed, his shoulders slumping. "Oh, Kyle, baby." I ruffled his hair and walked him over to a table in the ice cream shoppe. I sat and lifted him up on my lap, which wasn't getting easy at all these days. Soon enough he wouldn't fit there at all. "Sometimes mommy's and daddy's aren't meant to be together like other mommy and daddy's are. That doesn't mean we don't love each other or even love our baby boy it just means we're better off apart. I'm marrying Jeff. You remember him, right?" He nodded.

"He and I are getting married and we'll let the babies live with us and you can visit anytime you want." He glanced down at my stomach, placing his hand on it and rubbing it. "You'll all forget me... like you did Pops." I felt tears burn my eyes and blinked them back. "Oh, baby. That's not true at all. I could never forget you. I'm sorry." I gave him a tight hug and kissed the top of his head. "How about some ice cream and then we'll pick out some candy to go? Sound good?" He nodded quickly and I ordered us some ice cream to eat at the table.

I had gone out to buy a present for Abigail, hoping to cheer her up. Things had been a little strained since things even though we were going married. She was still a little down. I couldn't do anything to help her, but maybe this could help bring a smile to her face. I was walking by the ice cream shop, I heard Abigail talking to Kyle.

I turned into the shop and saw them sitting at the counter. I walked up behind them, placing my hand on her shoulder and kissing the back of her head. I looked over her shoulder at the little boy. He was a good kid. I liked him, even if he was Jackson's son.

I didn't hate Jackson as much as he hated me. He hated me because he thought I took Abigail from him, but it had been him that pushed her away, not the other way around. "Hello, you two. Have you had fun today?"

"I like chocolateeeeee, and the babies really like chocolate." I said, scooping up a spoonful of my ice cream and taking the bite. "I don't like chocolate." I smiled, wiping my mouth with a napkin. "You can thank your pops for that." He giggled, taking his bite of vanilla ice cream with sprinkles. I jumped, but settled when I realized who was holding me. I knew we were getting married but it still always took me off guard when he held me out in public. I knew it was him, simply by smell. I turned slightly, smiling at Jeff. "Yes we have. Haven't we, Kyle?" He glanced over at Jeff, smiling a big grin. "Sure have!" I smiled, giving him a kiss. I wondered if we were even going to discuss the sudden engagement or act like it didn't happen... it came out of nowhere because I lied to Jackson to hurt him.... but I did love Jeff so why not?

"I was just out shopping and I heard you two in here." I was supposed to be standing guard at the hospital, but Andre was there so I could come here and do this small thing for Abigail. I was sure Dante wouldn't mind, and I would be back by the time he was back from going home and showering and getting ready to take her home. "What do you say we all go together? Do you think your father would mind, figlio?" He wasn't my son, but I could call him son anyway. He shook his head quickly. "No, I don't have to be home for a while! I'm good!" I looked down at Abigail, smiling. "Alright then. Shall we?"

I glanced at my half empty bowl and then over at Kyle's. "Yes we shall. Just one second." I wiped Kyle's face off, smiling as he hopped down. I took Jeff's hand, sliding down off the chair and rubbing my back. "Lead the way."

I walked with the two of them out of the shop, placing my hand on Abigail's back and rubbing it beside where she was rubbing it. "Are you feeling alright, Caramella? Would you rather just go home? I could give you a foot rub?"

"Nope, I'm good." I smiled at him when I felt Kyle take my free hand. "I wanna take Kyle out for some fun before I take him home. So where to first on our shopping trip?" Kyle piped up. "Toy store????"

I laughed. I loved the boy's enthusiasm. I was looking forward to the day that Abigail's and my children were his age and we'd be doing this with them. "Toy store it is. Is there any toy in particular you want, or did you just want to window shop?" He looked up at me, giving me a sour look. "Window shopping? Please! I want the new Superman action figure! It comes with Robo Lex!" He looked over at Abigail, asking her. "Can I get it? Can I?"

"Hmmm, i need to hear the magic word for that to possibly happen." His eyes lit up. "Pleaseeeeeee! Pleaseeeeee! Pleaseeeeee, momma!!!! Pleaseeeee!" I laughed, holding Jeff's hand more and glancing up at him. "What do you think Jeff, you think he asked nicely enough??"

I laughed. I had no idea how to be a parent, but I knew Abigail did, and from the interaction between her and Jackson's child here, I was sure I wasn't going to have anything to worry about. I smiled down at Kyle and slowly began to nod my head. "Why not?" From ahead of us, I heard Jackson, and he didn't seem happy. "Why not what?" I looked up and he had something in his hand that looked like Superman to me, but I really couldn't tell. "Pooooooops!!!!!" Kyle ran over to him and jumped up into his arms. Jackson kept his gaze fixed on Abigail and me, asking again as he held his son up in his arms. "Why not what?"

My shoulder stiffened at the voice I knew better than most... and when Kyle ran off to his Pops I felt my stomach drop, only because I knew our time together was ruined now. I slid my free hand around Jeff's arm, staring at Jackson and Kyle. "We were talking about getting him a toy..." And from the looks of it Jackson had already got it for him. I held tighter to Jeff with both arms around his, smiling. My smile was strained I knew it but I was trying. "We didn't expect to see you." Kyle smiled. "We had ice cream, Pops too!"

I looked at my son, doing my best to give him a real smile. "Did you now?" I completely ignored the other two for the moment. "Then I guess you don't want this?" I held up the action figure set of Superman and Robo Lex Luthor. His eyes lit up as bright as the fourth of July. "Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, I do, Pops! Yes, I do!" I nodded, continuing to walk toward the cash register, walking past Abigail and Jeff as if they weren't even there. "Alright then. I'll even let you use Pops' credit card to buy it!" Kyle hugged me tightly. "Yayayay!"

I felt tears bubble up in my eyes as I watched Jackson walk right past me. As if I was invisible. And on top of that he took the chance for me to buy Kyle his toy away. I glanced up at Jeff. "He just ignored me." I whispered, wishing I wasn't pregnant because my hormones were crazy. I laid my head on his shoulder, sighing. "Oh well," I said, my voice thick with tears.

"Hold on a moment," I told her, taking her hand in mine and turning to follow Jackson. "Excuse me, Jackson," I said, and he turned around, not even bothering to hide his eyes rolling and his obvious annoyance. "What?" I looked down at Abigail, giving her hand a soft squeeze before looking up at Jackson again. "Abigail was going to buy that for him, and Kyle was really excited for her to do so." Jackson looked at Kyle and then back over at us. "Really?" I didn't know why he couldn't just accept things the way they were. Abigail was with me, and because of that, he was going to punish her for it? It didn't make any sense to me. "Please let her, Jackson." I knew he had no reason to do so, but I hoped he would see how much Abigail is hurting here and do it for her. "Fine." He handed Kyle the toy and told him something quietly before turning around and leaving the store. "I'll be out here waiting." Kyle came back over to us and I kissed Abigail's forehead again, rubbing her back softly.

I was so shocked by Jeff's simple act that I had to stop myself from seriously crying, I mean full blown out sobs that the whole store could hear. Jackson never did things like that for me. He never defended my honor. If anything he probably spit on it.. Okay that wasn't exactly fair.. but still. I watched him walk out and smiled at Jeff. "Thank you." I brushed a single tear away and handed Kyle some money for the toy out of my purse. "You can pay and everything." He smiled brightly, took the money and went up to the counter. "I love you." I told Jeff, leaning up and kissing him on the lips softly. "Here," I told Kyle laughing. "let me help you." I lifted him up and let him hand the lady the money as she stuffed his toy in the bag.

I smiled, watching Abigail with Kyle. I knew this was how it was going to be with our children. Well, I would have more to do with them, because this was Jackson's son, and he'd kill me if I even touched him. I think I got away quite easily this time. My phone went off in my pocket and I pulled it out. Seeing Dante's number, I wondered if something happened to Bianca. "Abigail..." I said, slowly answering the phone. "Dante?"

I glanced over at Jeff, holding Kyle on my hip as we stepped back from the line. "What's wrong?" I asked, concern filling the features of my face.

I sighed heavily, sliding my phone back in my pocket and shaking my head. "I've gotta go. I'm sorry." I leaned over, kissing her forehead softly and looking over at Kyle. "Have fun with your mom and dad, figlio." He scrunched his nose up, asking, "What's a figlio?" I laughed, thankful for his candor. "I'll tell you later." I gave Abigail a brief kiss and turned around, hightailing it out of there. Luckily Jackson's back was to me, so I didn't have to worry about talking to him again. I left the mall and headed straight for Bellevue.

"What??" I said, watching in amazement as he walked away in a hurry not even telling me what was going on... and then didn't even say I love you. I think I felt funny, hurt almost. I sighed, trying to fight back the water works again. They never freaking stopped. I wrinkled my brow, biting my lip slightly. I didn't want to go out there and face Jackson alone... I just didn't. I slowly let out a breath, sighing slightly as I carried Kyle on my hip. "Okay, let's go see your pops..." I came out of the shop, setting Kyle on his feet so he could run over to his pops. "Pops what is a filgeeoooo???" I chuckled slightly, folding my arms over my chest. "I should go. I'll see you later, baby." I walked over, giving Kyle a kiss. "Be good for your pops." I smiled. "Always, momma." I smiled, brushing his hair back on his head. "I love you." He smiled. "I love you too!" I turned, mumbling out a goodbye Jackson before walking forward.

"Abigail, wait..." I sighed, walking after her, Kyle on my hip. "Hey, wait. What is a fig leo?" Ok, so that wasn't what I wanted to ask her, but at least it got her to stop. "Hey, I know you already had ice cream, but are you up for an early lunch?" I didn't want to let her go. I wanted more time with her. I wanted time with my family.

"Son. It means son." I said, my shoulder tense. I folded my arms over my chest, rocking on my heels. "Sure... I am starving... all the time practically..." I shrugged slightly. "And it means more time with my boy.. so sure." I nodded slightly. I wasn't sure how great of a lunch this would be with him ignoring me but I guess I'd suck it up and get through it....

I smiled. I knew she was talking about Kyle, but I could imagine she was talking about me. I stepped forward, wrapping my arm around her waist and pulling her to walk with us. "So, what did you want to eat, baby?" I looked over at Kyle. "What would you like to eat, buddy?"

Baby? Really? After ignoring me and acting like I was a complete stranger and taking my time away from me with Kyle and he says baby and puts his arm around me?! "Pizza!" Kyle piped up, wiggling in Jackson's arms. "Pleaseeeee!" I pulled away from Jackson, staring up at him. "I don't understand you sometimes." That's all I said before moving the subject. "Pizza sounds yummy. Babies like the idea of that." I said patting my stomach.

I opted for holding her hand, walking with her and Kyle toward the pizzeria. "Pizza sounds wonderful. Need to feed the family, don't we, buddy?" Kyle nodded his head. "Momma needs to eat a lot because she's carrying two babies, Pops! TWO babies! Seriously, Pops, how do TWO babies fit in a stomach? Won't the stomach just pop?" I tried not to laugh, shaking my head. "No, buddy. Momma's tummy's are really strong. Nothing can hurt the babies and it won't pop. You don't have anything to worry about."

I pulled my hand out of Jackson's shaking my head. He confused the living hell out of me. I folded my arms over my chest, walking with the boys. "Well, good because my brothers need to be safe!" I laughed. "What if they aren't boys?" He scoffed. "Pleaseeeee they will be boys!" I laughed. "If you think so." He looked up at smugly. "I know so." I laughed, walking inside the pizza place in the mall. I asked for a table only because getting in and out of booths with this belly wasn't easy.
