PostSubject: a night out   a night out Icon_minitimeWed Apr 25, 2012 12:36 am

We left the kids with a sitter and headed out for the night. We all could use it. Work was rough on all of us. We all needed fun so we decided to head to the bar a few blocks away from the hospital. They had really good food and Binx wanted to dance, so that's where we were. We walked in and found an open table. It was open sitting, so we could sit wherever we wanted. After we were sitting a few moments, the waitress came over to ask us what we wanted. The menu was painted on the table, so we knew what we wanted when she came over. We ordered and she went to fill it for us. "So, no talk about work. Just us out having fun. Think we can do that?"

I laughed, shaking my head at him. "Are you kidding? Even I need a break from those kids day in and day out." I giggled, thanking the waitress as she brought us all a round of beers and a non-alcoholic fruity drink for A, since she's pregnant. She left us alone again and I took a sip of my beer. I didn't drink often, but we were having fun tonight. I was going to drink as much as I felt like. I might pay for it in the morning, but I deserved a night out like this.

"No kids or work related conversations sounds good to me." I said laughing, taking a sip of my beer. "What are we all eating? We could share a pizza?"

"Thank you." I told the waitress as she set my drink down. I glanced around at the others, trying to restrain the yawn threatening my lips. "Yes, no kid or work talk." Normally I loved discussing my children or my job but today was time for fun only. I couldn't help myself, I let the yawn out anyways. I had had the longest day but I wanted to be here. "Pizza sounds good.... and something sweet. Like pie or something." I said giggling. "I can't drink but at least I can get a food high!"

I smiled brightly over at A. I couldn't have children any more, but I remembered how it was when I was pregnant with the twins. I was sure I didn't want anymore children anyway, even if I could have any, but I remembered how nice it was to be pregnant, being able to eat what I wanted. Probably the only thing I enjoyed about being pregnant. "Sounds good to me!" I leaned across the table closer to her. "A, does it bother you that we can drink and you can't? If it does, I'll order a virgin daiquiri too."

"Pizza sounds great, man!" I didn't particularly care about grease and high-sugar foods, but we were going all out tonight. No need to worry about grease and sugar. We were just having fun. Bianca leaned over to have a girl pow wow with Abigail and I smiled at them turning to look at Dante. "You know, I thought it was going to be difficult adjusting here, but it's actually been quite easy." We had just a little over a week left of school before summer break started and I was going to be glad to have the time off. I wasn't going to say I was, besides, Bianca had heard it several times, but we weren't talking about work tonight.

"Not at all." I said smiling at B. "I barely drink as is so me not being able to drink now is just fine. Especially given the reason behind it." I touched my stomach a smile growing across my lips. "You enjoy that drink."

I ordered us all a large pepperoni pizza, as well as some breadsticks before turning back to Jackson as the waitress walked away. "I'm really good. Because I love having you both here." I placed my hand on Jackson's shoulder giving it a tight squeeze. "Can't imagine a life without you guys in it."

I nodded. "You're right. We're like a huge family now. I've always wanted a big family. Since I was a kid, I wanted siblings, but that never happened. I feel like you and Abigail are my family now. And the kids--" I laughed, shaking my head. "Sorry, no kids rule!" I laughed more, picking up my beer.

I smiled brightly. "Good. I just wanna have fun. And I wanna dance." I turned to Jackson, reaching out and taking his hand. "Dance with me while we wait for the pizza?" He shrugged his shoulders, standing up with me. I knew he didn't like to dance much, but he would do anything for me.

"I think anytime you say kids you need to do a shot." I held my hand up. "One shot of Whiskey please!" The waitress nodded and I laughed. "Keep going that way I gotta carry your ass out!" I heard Bianca, and turned to Abby. "I bet this is where you ask me to dance, huh?"

"You'd be correct." I said with a giggle as I stood and followed B and Jackson toward the dance floor with Dante's hand in mine.

Almost as soon as we got out onto the dance floor, the song changed from the up beat tune playing to a slow song. Country really wasn't my style, but I just wanted to dance. I didn't care what it was too. And I could get into a line dance, but with the new song, I had to settle for a two-step. I giggled at Jackson's face as I stepped into his arms. "Thank you. I love the things you do for me, especially when you don't want to."

Ok, as much as I couldn't dance to fast songs, I really couldn't dance to slow songs. I literally had two left feet. But Bianca loved it when I danced with her, so who was I to upset my beautiful wife. And she really was beautiful tonight. She had asked Abby to go shopping with her to pick out this country-western dress, and it really did look good on her. She looked hot in denim. My hands slowly moved over her ass and I pulled her more against me. "There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you, babe. Even stumble through a slow song just to be close to you."

As Dante pulled me in his arms, I looked up at him, smiling softly as we started swaying to the music. "We need to do this more often." I said, wrapping my arms around his neck.

"Yes we do." I smiled down at her, swaying to the music, letting my hands rub her back. She leaned her head forward, letting it rest on my chest as we danced. I kissed the top of her head, still dancing. I liked the song. Abby listened to it a lot at home. And it always made me smile.

I think I actually knew this song. It was from... God, that Nicolas Cage movie. The Rock? No... That wasn't it. ConAir! Yes! That's the one! Not as good as The Rock. But pretty good nonetheless. Plus the rock had that chick in it that I thought looked like Bianca, and I told Binx every time we watched it that she was pretty damned hot, especially in those ponytails she wore when she and Nic Cage fucked up on the roof. I always told Binx that she and I should do that sometime. For each comment. I earned a smack on the shoulder. But then she'd settle her head back on my shoulder and we'd continue to watch the movie.

And then the two of us would always repeat our favorite lines from the movie. My favorite were her favorite too, especially:
"I'll do my best."
"Your Best? Losers always complain about their best. Winners go home and fuck the prom queen."
"Carla was the prom queen."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
Occasionally, Binx would comment about that being the reason why I'm a winner, because I always got to go home and fuck the prom queen. Of course, we had been prom king and queen together, and it was the first time we had ever slept together.

It had been just a few months after her family died. She had gone into the foster care system, and my parents went down to get her. She was my best friend and I begged and pleaded with them to go get her so she wouldn't be taken away from me. I was so grateful they did. Of course, she started sleeping in my bedroom that first night, not wanting to be alone. My parents didn't like it, but they weren't about to tell us what not to do. It would be hypocritical of them if they did. So, they let us, but at the same time begged us to be careful. We weren't doing that until prom, but my parents were sure we had been doing it even before she moved in. Not that it really mattered. They didn't need to know one way or the other.

I looked over at A and D. "They look really happy, don't they?" Looking back up at Jackie, I ran my fingers through his hair. "Do you ever resent me for not being able to give you more children?" I wasn't going to say that I didn't particularly care to have more children. It was nice to have a legitimate excuse not to. "What? No! I would never risk your life, Binx, not even for a child." He said that all the time, but with A having another baby, I thought maybe he'd change his mind. I don't know. I know he wouldn't risk my life, but that didn't mean that he might not resent me for not being able to give him one. I laid my head against his chest and closed my eyes. "I love you, Jackie." He kissed the top of my head. "I love you, Binx."

Abby looked up at me, smiling. "Baby, you would take away everything real in my life. And tell me now... how do I live without you? I want to know." I kissed her nose. "You won't ever have to find out." I kissed her lips and glanced over at Jackson and Bianca. "Cuter than us, huh?" Abby giggled, looking over at our friends. "Much cuter. Cutest couple ever." I laughed, grabbing her hand, twirling her around and pulling her back to me.

I fell against Dante, giggling as I did, my hand planted in his, using the other to hug his waist. "You make me feel like the most special person in the world." He shook his head. "I'm the most special. I got you, our kids... you know you saved my life, right? If it wasn't for you I'd be dead." My eyes softened, my hand touching his cheek. "Don't say that." I knew he had been in a rough place when we met. He was considering quitting his job as a doctor and turning to the family business, and I knew that us meeting was what gave him the sign to change his life. As he said "his sign from God" when he asked for one, but that didn't mean I was the one who saved him. He saved himself. "Everything good in my life, and telllll me now. How do I live without you? I want to know! How do I breathe without you? If you ever go..." I sang softly as the song came to a close and we danced.

The song softly faded and the next one immediately started in. Alright, so seriously country music wasn't my favorite, but if I needed an up beat song to "shake my tush" this had to be the song to do it. Shania Twain had crossed the genre divide often enough that I wasn't unfamiliar with her music. I stepped out away from Jackson, taking his hands and starting to swing out with him. I could get into this. It wasn't my first choice in music, but I could learn to dance to anything. "I'm going out tonight, I'm feeling alright. Gonna let it all hang oooouuuut! Wanna make some noise, really make some noise. Yeah, I'm gonna scream and shout!... Uhhh!" I giggled as Jackie tried to stay up with me, even as I tried to sing with the lyrics.

Ok, so maybe I was wrong. Maybe slow dances were a whole lot easier, especially when you're dancing with someone who had actually been trained in dancing. She had taken classes back when she wanted to move to Hollywood and become an actress.
"I want to be a triple threat, Jackie,"
she used to tell me. Yeah, she had to explain it to me the first time what that meant, but I didn't blame her. It seemed like all the actresses now days knew how to act, sing, and dance. I had told her if she's going to do that, she may as well add another feat in there. And that's when she learned how to play the guitar. That's when I learned never to extend a challenge out to her. Not that she's a terrible guitar player, but she had only taught herself one song, and it was the song she taught herself, not even what chords she was playing. I told her she might probably actually want to learn the actual chords, but her parents died not long after that and she never picked up the guitar again. She never sang or acted again either, unless you count singing in the shower and acting in front of her class to show the students what she wanted from them. And as for dancing, the only time she ever did was when we went out like this. Or when she exercised. It was part of her routine, and she was sexy as hell at it too.

I turned, facing away from Dante, putting my hands above me, wrapping them around his neck from behind as he slid his arm around me from behind me. He started dancing with me, us both rocking our hips back and forth. Dante wasn't like most men. In fact he liked dancing and did it pretty well. I always told him he was meant for show business, but just like me, he knew it wasn't a logical choice and wasn't meant to be. He kissed the side of my neck, making me smile. "No frisky stuff, buddy." He chuckled, still dancing with me.

I twirled her, pulling her back to me holding her arm from behind as she rubbed against me and our hips danced back and forth. "I'm not drunk enough to dance like this and not need time alone with you." Abby laughed, turning and pushing me back as she danced on her own, holding her hand out. I took it, pulling her closer, dancing.

I was sure I was going to be tripping in about a minute here, and was thankful when I saw the waitress bring the pizza out. "Thank God! Pardoned by the pizza!" I pulled Bianca too me. Kissing her deeply, before letting her pull back so we could both breathe. "Tell me we can eat now."
